Did you know that there were digital and analog mobile phones?
And what should you choose if your options are digital or analog? Well, although it actually depends on what you are looking for in a phone's performance, digital is definitely the way forward. The reason being that digital is the immediate future of wireless phones and analog is becoming so last season.
What will digital mobile phones give you that analog phones can't? Well, that’s a hard one: just about everything. Digital phones, depending on the specifications of the model, will allow you to send and receive email for instance, and get alerts on all kinds of news. These are nice little extras that won't come with the older analog phones. Digital phones also allow you to set up a phone book and a personalized calling list which simplifies its use and eliminates the need to try and remember a phone number or search the phone book. Of course, most of you know that, but beware as there still are a few analog phones on sale, which are so cheap they can be attractive on the first glance.
Two of the biggest advantages that the world of digital phones brings revolve around their capabilities. You will find that the reception that you receive on a digital phone is superior to the reception you will receive on most phones - traditional or cordless included. It would be an understatement to call the reception good to very good and you will rarely loose connection. Another grest advantage is its battery life. For example, your average Nokia has a battery life that will give you more than three hours calling time and eight days of standby time. Try that with an analog phone!
Surely there is something positive about an analog phone? So what are the positives?
As we mentioned earlyer, the only advantage would be their cost. Analog phones are still being given away for free – or for 99 pence or such prices - with a contract that is. Digital phones do not come in cheap, but it's up to you how much you want to spend - depending on how powerful you want your phone to be, what options you feel you need and of course the lateness of their design.
Please keep in mind that digital phones might become outdated very much like analog has become outdated some day. However, digital phones have a much higher trade-in value and should hold that value much longer than analog phones did.
